Y’all! It’s been a year and half since I first decided to return to my fiction roots and jump on the subscription model bandwagon along the way.
What a ride!!!!
While the learning curve was fairly mild, it was still quite a journey as I figured out how I wanted to shape my writing career. I started the Scriptorium as an “everything” dumping ground, and tried out a different site for my fiction. I tried out posting on Wattpad, RoyalRoad, Inkitt…you name it, I was there. I serialized my MMF romantasy novel, The Queen’s Aerie. I wrote over 200 non-fiction posts about the history of text technology, serials, and holistic productivity.
Kicking the tires, as Poppa would call it.
I’ve decided that I want to build some synergy with my fiction and non-fiction writing, but not by aiming the firehose of my writing at readers who might not want the whole of everything all the time.
I’ve built the Bibliotheca to hold my new fiction. My older work is still out there, and I’ve got some ideas on how I want to make it all available. I might yet build a membership/subscription/store on my own website, but for now, I’ll be focusing on posting serials here and selling books through my online store.
First up is Dragon’s Grail Arc 1: Escape from Ice Mountain. This completed second-world fantasy is the first installment in a very long serial featuring a middle aged librarian and the two men who end up journeying with her, a disabled dragon, and two magical dogs across a whole continent to return the dragon’s grail to its rightful owners. Or so she thinks!
The full book is available already for paying members over on my Ream platform, but I’m slowly mothballing that site to focus instead on this one. So, I’ll be launching Escape from Ice Mountain here as a free read, two chapters a week!
I was drawn to your work by the title alone. Dragon’s Grail! Mine is a bout a shapeshifting sea dragon who needs to find the grail! Subscribing and looking forward to the first installment!
